Storage Device

Chapter 3            Lesson Overview Human beings store the information in their mind (memory of humans). Likewise, computer store information in its primary and secondary memory (memory of computer). They both can recognize it in the time of need. The physical parts of a computer that stores information and data either permanently or temporarily are called storage devices. They are classified as removable and non-removable storage devices. Computer memory is divided in to two parts. They are: 1.    Primary Memory 2.    S...

Notes on Velocity and Acceleration

Notes on Velocity and Acceleration  (specially for CLASS 7,NEPAL)

Especially for classes 7 and 8.

In this, you will get important short and sweet definitions, examples and something more.

Some notes of Lesson "Velocity and Acceleration" are:-

Rest-  A body is said to be at rest if it doesn't change its position with respect to a fixed point called a reference point.

Motion-  A body is said to be at rest if it changes its position with respect to a fixed point called a reference point.

Reference Point- The fixed point with which the rest and motion of a body are observed is known as a reference point.

Scaler Quantity- The physical quantity which has only magnitude but no direction is called a scalar quantity.

Vector Quantity- The physical quantity which has both magnitude and direction is called a scalar quantity.

Distance Travelled- The actual distance traveled by a moving body from the initial point to the final point, irrespective of its direction is called distance traveled/ distance. Its SI unit is the meter (m). It is denoted by 'd'.

Displacement- The shortest distance between the initial and final position of a moving body is called displacement. Its SI unit is the meter(m). It is denoted by 's'.

Speed- The total distance traveled per unit of time is called speed. Its SI unit is m/s. It is denoted by 'V'.

Velocity- The displacement traveled by a moving body per unit time is called velocity. Its SI unit is m/ is. It is denoted by 'v'.

Non- Uniform Motion/Non-Uniform Velocity- When a body covers equal distances in equal intervals of time, it is called non-uniform velocity.

Uniform Motion/ Uniform Velocity- When a body covers unequal distances in equal intervals of time, it is called non-uniform velocity.

Relative Velocity- The velocity of one moving body with respect to another moving body is known as relative velocity. Its SI unit is m / s.

Acceleration- The rate of change in the velocity of a body is called acceleration.

Retardation- The rate of decrease in the velocity of a body is called is retardation. Or, Negative acceleration is known as retardation. Its SI unit is also m / s.

Equation of Motion- The relationship of distance traveled, displacement, initial velocity, final velocity, acceleration, and time taken is called the equation of motion.

The three Newton's equations motion are:-

1) v=u+at

2) s= ut + 1/2 x at2

3)v2 = u2  + 2as
